Getting here is easy: the Enterprise train from Dublin takes about two hours to Belfast Grand Central, and the city has two airports, including George Best Belfast City Airport just minutes from the centre.

Make a weekend of it. Titanic Belfast tells the story of the world’s most famous ship beside the slipways where it was built, the Ulster Museum sits in the Botanic Gardens, and the city’s famous murals are best seen on a walking or black-taxi tour.

The MAC is in the Cathedral Quarter, Belfast’s buzzing patch of pubs, restaurants and live music, and the Waterfront Hall is a short stroll away on the banks of the Lagan.
