Since moving from Queens, New York to Ireland in his mid teens, Des Bishop has carved out a unique position for himself within the Irish comedy landscape.
An insider and an outsider all at the same time, few people are better equipped to poke fun at the absurdities of Irish life. One of the biggest names in the Dublin comedy circuit, Des has also masterminded a string of acclaimed television series including; ‘This is Ireland’ (2017), ‘The Des Bishop Work Experience’ (2004),’ Joy in the Hood’ (2006) and the award winning six episode comedy documentary series ‘In the Name of the Fada’ (2008).

The openness and honesty of his presenting style combined with his restless imagination and insightful comic observations presented a remarkable vision of Des as a comedian. A “must-see” for fans of unique, inquiring and engaging humor – Des is undoubtedly one of the most vital, honest and singular perspectives on the domestic comedy circuit.
